I've been tired and with teething a certain 1 year old has been SO grumpy. So I just went with it, I slowed down and thought the dishes can wait. Lets just play because quite frankly no matter how many times I wash up the dishes are always waiting. I think I sometimes spend so much time tidying that I forget to play and enjoy my children. The funny thing is that despite feeling bad about leaving these daily jobs a bit I started to notice some lovely things. I was present in the moment so to speak. I of course, captured these on camera to show you guys...
Investigating nature...
Practising catalogue poses...
um...filling our nappies....
Getting way more confident at walking in our shoes and wellies...
Playing football with mummy and her two left feet...*shh* It's fine they cant tell I'm rubbish yet...
I thought nothing much happened in my garden in winter. I certainly don't usually touch it till spring...
This made me have a closer look at my garden...
While we were down there we also did some cloud watching. When was the last time you did that? I used to do it all the time when I was little but its been a while...
I said I could see a wizard, Isaac said he could see Spongebob (*rolls eyes* clearly a wizard) and Lucas said...well Lucas can only say the word hello...
what can you see?
However I think this cloud was giving me the finger...
Anyway this particular day we played until it got dark which we never do. Lovely.
Then this morning I watched them playing and a miracle occurred. They played together completely absorbed in the moment for ages. No one started fighting or crying (which is the miracle bit). I think as Lucas gets bigger this is happening more and more.
How cool were their shadows?
Completely absorbed in the moment...
Normally I would have missed this lovely moment thinking 'ooh they are quiet! Quick get stuff done!' but look what I would have missed. So I've had a little lesson in enjoying the moment. But not too much! I really had better get 'some' cleaning done otherwise I am actually just lazy ; )
Awesome photos! Totally loving that shadow one. That's scrapbook material right there! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Love the little wellies, so precious!

Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog. Your boys are adorable, and your pictures are fantastic. The shadows are so great. I would frame those ones.
ReplyDeleteI too realize I need to leave the dishes behind on occasion to just watch my kids discover new things, and play with them. Children are so fascinating.
