End of the world?

Apparently not this time.

But much more importantly it was my birthday.

I was rather put out that the end of the world, the universe and everything thing in it was apparently scheduled on the same day. Most inconvenient for me.

However we are still here. Therefore I can only conclude that I must have some sway with whoever decides these things. Either that or it was purely the mad ravings of some crazy old guy...?

We are still here to live another day. A good day. My birthday no less.

Which started with some flowers from hubby who knows to go for yellow (my favourite colour).
After lots of cuddles with little ones and a yummy breakfast I went on my weekend morning bike ride. (Do you like how I said that as if I always go every weekend, like some sort of awesome athletic always motivated person?)

I wasn't planing on taking anymore poppy pictures like my last bike ride but riding past they looked even more impressive. So once again I fell  made my way down the hill, got stuck in barb-wire climbed over the fence to take some more shots...

It was really REALLY windy, the sky was threatening to thunder or something. Which lead me to have a funny fleeting thought: imagine if it was true and the world was going to end while we were all laughing at the absurbity of it all? I pictured it all happening like a film playing in my head with special effects to suit. (always been a big daydreamer) Even though I know I'm pretty sure I'm getting left behind with the others unable to believe. I wondered am I happy with the little life I've had? Would I still be grateful? Did I do okay?
I think you can tell what my answer was...
After Lunch and during Lucas' nap, Isaac decided to make me birthday cupcakes. Well if you insist...

It got a tad messy...

It was first ever time making them and they turned out to be pretty darn good...

 Time to decorate...

And eat before Mummy even gets a bite...

I got one eventually...

Then after a change of clothes a little play in the garden... (really shouldn't have bothered changing clothes)

You can't beat a good hose down for some fun, especially if you are the one holding the hose...
Then after wardrobe change number 3, we settled down to watch one of my favourite films Toy story 3. They only watched the beginning because Isaac is scared of the monkey. While they napped I finished watching it and as usual cried when Andy say's goodbye.

Seriously Pixar this Film is amazing!

In the evening we had a dinner party with friends which was lovely. I took my camera and had big plans of taking photos of my food, my friends laughing and joking, my cake etc... All of which was forgotten about pretty soon after my first glass of wine. Sorry about that. It was a great evening though.

And as an extra plus, it wasn't interrupted by the world ending. Which is good because in my opinion there's some pretty nice things worth sticking around for...

  1. Happy birthday! Glad the gloom and doom of the end of the world held off and you got to have a lovely day! Love how messy Isaac got baking your cupcakes! And I totally agree, I sobbed at the end of Toy Story 3! I was 8 when the first came out so I really grew up with the series! Have a wonderful year!
