Things I'm loving at the moment...

Getting lost in the woods on purpose...

 After dinner walks...

The prickly side of nature (from a distance)...

Long shadows cast by the golden light before sunset...

Still smiling in the face of epic tantrums...

From playing pooh sticks to tree climbing...
(because who doesn't like that?)

 Full marble jars...

Our growing veg patch...

Flowers in general...

What ever kind they may be...

Our beautiful brand new Nephew... (I'm not broody, I'm not broody...)

I've even made peace with the weather. Right after I ranted about our English Summer we had a little heat wave. It was probably seconds after I clicked publish *damn you weather Gods*...

In typical English weather fashion a heat wave equals a very hot day or 2 where the shops run empty of BBQ supplies, men of all shapes and sizes stroll around with their shirts off and everyone nurses their sunburn for days to come.

We are now back to can't make your mind up weather with some sunshine, threatening but doesn't deliver thunderstorm type clouds and lots of showers. I'm actually kind of enjoying it...

Which probably means it will immediately change to something else...

I will find a puddle to jump in, I will!

Fox accessories

I really dig these foxgloves. Although they look nothing like gloves foxes would wear...
Maybe fox trumpets...

or fox hats...?
Sorry couldn't resist...

I'm English I need to discuss the weather...

It's officially summer but in typical British fashion it was way warmer in May. Most days the sky has rolling grey clouds that rarely live up to the threat of a torrential downpour. I love lazy hot summer days but I'm all about a good thunderstorm. Any extremes in fact: Hail, snow, lightening...They all get me excited. Pathetic attempt to drizzle rather than rain do not.
However complaining about the weather aside I'm enjoying summer. Everything has bloomed in the garden and in the surrounding countryside. Bike rides and walks with the boys are allowing me to really soak it all up so to speak...

I had to take these next photos quick because any ripe fruit in our garden is quickly eaten...

Here's a recent walk I went on, just me and Lucas.
He likes to go where the wind takes him. You never know where we will end up if its left up to him but ooh he gets grumpy when you try and tell him where to go. We also have to closely inspect and pick up various things from the ground. Then we carry them around for a while.

If anyone passes by we also have to chase them for a while too...
Then we take a little a rest to inspect our wellies...
Who knew wellies were so interesting...
 'Look everyone! I got wellies...'

Cue distraction from wellies to encourage getting up from the floor...

 Which leads to practice pouting...
We did eventually walk home.

Eventually...

Check out this tree I found growing out of a bridge. Where there's a will there's a way huh?

Isaac gets his one on one time with Mummy too even if its raining. In fact especially when its raining. Boy loves the puddles. And this time it did pour down like it threatened too...

But you know there's still time to play together too. The other day it was sunny and warm enough that on a whim I said 'okay lets get the paddling pool out!' I had to top it up with warm water though. It is a British summer after all...

I also got the bubbles out again...

Got a little distracted with capturing a close up trapped inside a bubble effect...

Mustn't get too distracted though, I needed to be available to tell them to be GENTLE with each other, like every 2 seconds! *sigh* I don't want to stereotype but they are such boys!

Isaac kept attacking Lucas with the hose saying 'it's a snake'. Oh well in that case...

Don't be fooled by this angelic face!

Getting out is always a little on the chilly side. Cue Peppa Pig on the TV and big cosy dressing gowns...
All in all I'm enjoying summertime very much.
