Castles in Wales

I think I'd like to live in a castle. When we were in Wales recently it seemed like you couldn't move without bumping into a castle of some sort. Quite frankly I want in on the action. There were mini castles for houses all over the place...

If that isn't living it up, I don't know what is!There was even a small castle in the local playground. I mean come on!

Before we knew it we were mighty kings/queens and knights living within these stone walls...
Who spend their days fighting strange small wooden enemies and dragons who lurk within the walls...
And who occasionally stop to ride on the merry go round or jump about aimlessly...
Such is the life of us castle folk. So it seemed only right to find ourselves a castle to call our own immediately.Of course it wasn't long before we found one. It was called Reglan castle..

If we decide to buy we might just have to rename it. (Suggestions on a post card please...) The local Estate Agents describe it as Open and airy...
Bringing the outdoors in...
Loose yourself or better yet someone else within its many corridors...

It's full of interesting features...

Including some very rare lifelike gargoyles...
And a moat to keep your enemies and sales people out...

Lastly it boasts a large open plan kitchen designed in the early dungeon style...
What's not to like?

*sigh* so tempting...
But alas the heating bills alone would be astronomical. So, as we say to our children almost daily...
'Hmm maybe another time...'

  1. I'd SO live in a castle. Although the heating bill might bankrupt me. Oh, who am I kidding the mortgage payment would bankrupt me!
