My 34th birthday

Yesterday was my 34th birthday. 34 years on this earth.

Which if you think of it like that, is pretty cool. To make it all the sweeter my brother who lives far away in Seattle and I haven't seen in the flesh for two and a half years just happened to be in England AND was able to come stay for my birthday.

Whoop whoop!

The morning of my birthday Hubby made the best birthday breakfast I have ever had. I didn't need to eat again for like hours...
Which for me is really saying something.

He also got me our traditional birthday flowers...

I got cards and presents which made me happy. And later that morning we went for a walk with my youngest before he started preschool for the afternoon...

Too cute right? We ate a delicious Lunch here...
If you going to do something you might as well do it right! Then we spent an afternoon in the woods...

Indulging my brothers nerdy need to go bird watching. I had a little go...
I don't think I could become a avid follower though. For one thing it hurt my neck always looking up...

And as always on my birthday in the evening was filled with good friends, delicious food and flowing wine. But I was enjoying myself too much to photograph any of it. So help yourself to a slice of cake and celebrate with me my 34th year of life x

Nature is clever like that..

A couple of weeks ago we planted our vegetable seeds which is always a favourite activity...
So favourite in fact that a certain little boy insisted on helping despite having a fever. Poor baby so poorly...
But a mere mention of seeds brings a momentary bout of excitement...

What's nice this year is that Lucas really gets what we are doing and wants to join in. Rather than in previous years where he preferred to dig up and stand on rather than plant anything...

Whenever we sow seeds I can't imagine anything will actually grow. You keep looking and looking each day and there is seemingly no change. Then all of a sudden you notice something tiny poking out through the dirt. Whoever spots them first yells to everyone else 'Quick come look at the tiny something that wasn't there before!' And we are always surprised. We sowed them, we watered, we fed them and yet we are still surprised. Nature is clever like that. So right now I need to yell something at you...
'Quick come look at the tiny something that wasn't there before!'
It's growing!!

In fact much to my delight everything in the garden is growing...

Little things

Little things I'm loving at the moment...

My garden blooming...
Birds digging my little homemade feeder...

Flowers from Hubby after two weeks of being at home with poorly children, can you say cabin fever...?
Watching my seeds bursting into life...
Yummy stuff...

New Pet

So once again the kiddies in this household have caught some pesky germs. Isaac had a nasty virus last week with high temperatures. And now I write this post blurry eyed after a night up with poor Lucas the vomitor as he shall henceforth be known...

A longer post is coming but until then meet our new 'pet'...

He comes into our garden quite regularly. I'm assuming he's a 'he' and it seems rude to check...

He likes to play about in the grass, he thinks he is so stealth like...
He works part time as a sniffer dog...
Go get em boy! Or girl

He will also perform tricks for food...

But apparently requesting Gangnam Style is taking it too far..

Be back soon, germ free hopefully....
